Patel has been viewed as a leading contender of Trump’s
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday named the former Republican House staffer and fierce Trump partisan Kashyap “Kash” Patel as his next F.B.I. director, a move that suggests that he plans to fire the current F.B.I. director, Christopher Wray, shortly after taking office in January.
A former federal prosecutor, Patel has been viewed as a leading contender of Trump’s for a senior national security position who may lead U.S. defense and intelligence agencies in a number of senior staff jobs during Trump’s first term.
